She graduated in Nursing by the University of Rio de Janeiro (1982), Master in Public Health by the University of Rio de Janeiro (1993), PhD in Nursing by the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2000) and post-doc in Gerontology by the University of Jönköping, Sweden (2005). She is currently a research associate at the Universidade do Estado do Amazonas, a research associate - Hälsohögskolan Jönköping, member of the State Council of Defense of the Rights of the Elderly, associate professor at the University of Rio de Janeiro. Has experience in Public Health with emphasis in Elderly Health, acting on the following subjects: elderly, aging, nursing, caregivers and health care providers.
